End of exams
Sunday, December 02, 2007

I ended my last paper on the last day of SMU's exam period. And tomorrow I'll be leaving for Cambodia then Thailand for my business study mission trip. I was excited at first, but now, I didn't feel like going. I just want to stay at home and nua. Exam period was hectic. People I gonna miss here in Singapore. Will be away for 10 days, and I'm quite reluctant to go now.

Anyway, last night Tom and I went to Michele's place for an italian dinner. He's my international SMU buddy. Dinner was really good, pasta was good, with red and white wine. Had a good chat with his friends as well, with 1 girl from Turkey! Really interesting to learn about their culture and all. Learnt some pasta-cooking-techniques from Michele and friend. Today they'll be leaving for Thailand, then the Philippines. Will be meeting up with them again when they come back and before they leave for Italy. :)

Muffin's story

It has been a week, and her food bowl remained untouched, potty remained clean. Nothing moved.

Muffin came during my 21st birthday celebration - April 22. She was in a medium sized pink cage, with a red bowl, lots of cat litter and hay in the cage, and a metal mat to cool her.

Junhui & Eekoon (owner) brought her here. I was so excited when she came! At that time I thought.. wow.. she's huge! And everybody's reaction was "where's her eyes??" :))) at that time she was already so loved by everyone. Her looks made her so lovable, so hugable. My cousin took her out and she would hop back immediately. This bunny was so shy at that time.

Muffin was such a nice companion. She would accompany me when I'm lonely at home. She'd be so excited every morning as I approach to feed her. She would try to hop out of the cage everytime and roam around the house. She's so sweet that you can't imagine! She would come to me, make herself comfortable at my feet and just stood there, with her body touching mine, just to be by my side. When she yearn for a pat, she would force her head below my arms or even my feet when im sitting on a chair. And when I stroke her, she would adjust herself to a comfortable position, with the eyes half closed, and ultimately lying down flat on the floor. She would cling on to me whenever she's afraid. The first time I brought her for grooming, she didn't want to stay at that unfamiliar place. She turned and clinged on to me, trying to climb onto my body. The first time I brought her to the vet, she did that too. She's just so sweet. :)

Muffin has her favourite habits. She would have both her hands on her food bowl, sometimes inside the food bowl to have her meals. She grooms herself everyday, and whenever she touches something she dont like - water. She's such a vain lil girl, but that's what I so love about her. :) Love to see her groom herself, and love to see her irritated when I disturb her while grooming. :) She will have her afternoon nap everyday, hiding in one corner in her cage or living room and rest. She does bunny hops whenever she's happy.

She was very picky with food. I tried to change food for her, and she didn't eat them as fast. She only eats her favourite biscuit. and it must be the same brand same type. She was a very pampered bunny and Tom always said I shouldn't pamper her so much because Muffin always thinks she's a big shot at home. haha. She only eat vegetables like carrot, xiao bai cai, kai lan and baby cai xim.

Sometimes she would rest on the cushion chair

Sometimes she'll just stone

Grooming herself

She loves to jump on my sofa when my mom is not around.

After a bunny hop - Messy mane

Muffin had been grooming every month since about 2 weeks after I got her. :)
The first time I brought her to trim her teeth.

The first time I brought her to bathe.

The first time she meet another bunny her that bunny's territory.

But you know what this dominant Muffin did? She was so frustrated that she stomped her foot, and tried to attack the other bunny. hahaa.. omg.. I was shock. But it's really interesting to see how she react in all situations. It's always out of expectation! :)

Hmm.. Throughout her life..I've always tried to bring her where ever i go. She has attended Chingling's 21st birthday party and at that time, I know she likes guys can! She was beside me, and she saw a guy.. and hop towards him. haha! Hmm, she has been to SMU, into the gym, and SR. She was the model for my LTB project, and a kid actually requested to have her photo (photos of bunnies were part of the "gifts" for them).

She had her glory during SMU Animal Day - The best groomed bunny. There was only 2 bunnies that took part, but still.. she won! :) Claurene came with me and I took hours to tie Muffin's hair.

Tom loved Muffin too!

This was a gift from Tom to Muffin - a 2 storey big cage. She was so happy! Even though she did not go up to the second level because of the wired steps, she was always curious about what's up there. And also her first yellow potty. She stayed with Tom the first time and subsequently every time when I go overseas.

And she got her new potty few months later cos we reckoned that the yellow one was too small for her butt.

Tom always said she loves the air con in his room, but his family were afraid that she'll be too cold in the air con room. We took a tennis small towel and put it over her. haha.

His sweet moments with Muffin.

We put her on his bed to play.

Muffin's nightmare started when the dogs came. It's not the dogs' fault, cos they're just playful and wants to play with her. And Muffin got scared initially, but after that, she would go to the dogs herself. :)

Pocky and her

However, it became problemetic when the ticks jump onto Muffin and caused bleedings on her head and neck. But it wasn't major. :)

Muffin fell ill this year. I brought her to the vet 3 times and 1 last time when she stopped breathing. She had dental problems due to an accident by the groomer, who accidentally cut her inner teeth. Muffin was in pain, but she couldn't express herself. Nevertheless, she remained bubbly. At night, she would pull off her her on her left arm until it's bare. It was so heartaching to see her like that. She scratched herself till it bled on the skin. Dr Blum managed to give her some medicine and she was cured. Her beautiful fur grew back.

The second time was also because of her teeth. And the third time too. The third time was serious. She had an infection till she had a lump below her chin. She went for a major op and I had to jab her every 2 days. My bro would help me hold her, and I'd jab her from her back on her loose skin. It was scary. I had to clean her wound everyday and wipe away the pus. And I had to cut her food everyday so that she can bite.

Thank God, slowly, the wound closed, and her pink skin grew back, ready for fur growing already. I was so happy at that time.

Who knows, last sunday, as I tried to arrange her cage nicely for her, I realised she couldn't move properly. Her right leg seemed to have some defects. I was desperate for help. I msged Junhui to ask if he can bring Muffin to the vet the next day as I know clinics dont open on Sunday. But Junhui managed to find a clinic on sunday. Came to pick her up and off to the clinic. I was so stressed up preparing for my Finance exam the next day. Gosh. It was really a traumatic day. 2 hours later, Junhui called. I was like "oh so how? Her leg ok?" He remained silent. Then he said, Muffin stopped breathing when he reached the counter. I was dumbfounded. Tears began to flow without me noticing.

I msged Tom. I was already tearing like nobody's business. I can't believe it. It was so sudden. She stopped breathing?? How can it be? I thought I see her recovering, I thought I see her so bubbly even after her op. I thought I see her behaving so sweetly the night before, hopping and bumping around my room. I thought I saw her peeing and pooing normally. I thought she was fine!

It totally affected me that day. I need company so that I won't be alone. But it was sunday. Monday was as bad. As I took the bus to the MRT, I thought of Muffin, and tears just flowed! omg. So embarrassing. After my finance exam, I got company till evening. But when I was alone back, she came on my mind again. :/

Love her lots.

Thank you to those who loved her. Thank you Tom, Junhui, Eekoon, Mandy and mommy who took care of her. Thank you to my bro and cousins who played with her when she's bored at home.
