Bangkok trip 2008
Saturday, October 11, 2008

Participants: Jackson, Jerry, Sophie, ME

It was really an impromptu trip I'd say. I was having my tests till thursday night at 645pm and the next day is the trip at 1130 am flight. Gosh, everything was so rushed that night even though we booked it 2 months ago.

Everybody travelled light, including me. My small luggage was only half filled, and that is so unlike me! Anyway, I went breakie with Daddy before sending me to the budget terminal. Oh well, I spilled coffee all over me as i was trying to reach for his tissue. My jeans from top to knee was with coffee stain, and my top got some as well. brillannnttttttt. Luckily it was still quite early so I went home to change (was at Eunos then).

Daddy fetched me to the airport, and only Jerry was there. So we talked while waiting for the other two. Upon arrival, we checked in and went in for a walk. hur.

On the flight, Jackson did his assignment x.x and I was reading a book to prepare for my meeting the next day after arriving in Singapore. How muggish can we get!! haaa. anyway, once we touched down at bangkok, we checked in WendyHouse - a guest house with a damn good location, clean rooms and TOILETS and good service, with not bad breakie.

Oh btw, the best thing is, nobody brought camera, cos all of us think alike ^^"I didnt bring my HP charger as well, so only took a few pics throughout the trip.

The first day we went MBK to walk around, had sashimi lunch/dinner!

sophie's favourite gyoza

Unagi sushi

Later in the day we had a full body massage at Healthland. Its kind of atas as its a standalone building and more expensive than all those around in Bangkok. Nevertheless its still relatively cheap to us - about 18 bucks for 2 hours Thai massage.

After that we had seafood dinner at Chinatown. Had this big head prawns, chilli crab, curry crab meat, dou miao, orange juice. Yummssssss. And after that we went clubbing at RCA. Didnt have much fun there cos it was too squeezy and people keep walking pass and you can imagine how many times we have to stop dancing cos of the need to make way =.= But was quite interesting looking at the sights over at RCA cos I went last year with my BSM group to slim. Had much more fun then. Probably its cos we went on a Fri this time and thai songs was playing in Slim.

Yups, went back to rest after that =]

Day 2
Woke up at about 930am thai time. Took our own sweet time, had breakfast at the lobby, then headed out to Chatukchak. Jerry met a misfortune there oh mann. As it rained before that, the shelters had slacks on their sheets, and one of was slanted for a bit as the auntie tried adjusting, and Jerry got all the water on his body. Guess what, he's probably just 15 cm in front of me.

Strangely, we had trouble finding pattai for lunch. So we settled for fried noodles x.x Bought some grapes back as well, and Jackson got some rambuttan.

Didn't buy alot, but was tiring! Humid weather. After that we went back WendyHouse for a shower and head out for dinner. We wanted to check out the other club that day as recommended by jackson's sis. But after going to and fro that street, a Thai told us that it was closed down long ago =.= but im glad we were there as the whole street is just so beautiful! never expected bangkok to have such places. I really love the cafe - iberry! I didnt go in tho, but me loves the deco =]

Settled for Jap food for dinner again, at ZEN. nice food, but kinda more pricey than what we had the previous day.

And guess woot, the Thai told us that the next day will be voting day, so no alcohol should be sold by any retailers on that day and the next day. So we abandoned the club idea eventually. Even supermarkets cant sell. So!! we bought ice cream, chips, cookies for that night and played cards.

Before lazing in our rooms we went for foot massage ^^ and Sophie had her mani and pedicure.

I took this 2 interesting pics:

The hardworking Jackson

^^"

Masked that night too, we bought the cucumber hydrating masks from boots.

Jackson masked the previous night, and the last night that's why he wasn't with us. haaaaaa

Sophie's and my loots combined

Day 3
That day was a platinum-shopping-day! I can still recall vividly what aaron bryan and tim did to denise and I when we were inside last year! They announced us to go to the counter cos they couldnt find us :x

Okay anyway, yup, at first the guys were with us while we shop, but i guess they realise that its not very efficient and they are getting bored (obviously) so we agreed to meet an hour later - to clear 2 levels. But Sophie and I only cleared 3/4 of 1 level! haaa.. requested for more time and managed to finish more or less =)

The guys managed to get shirts for our night activity that night. Sophie and I got our dresses. She got a black and gray butterfly dress, and I got a black dress with a dark brown wasit belt. =]

We had A&W for lunch for the day =]

We head back to WendyHouse, showered and changed. Went for full body massage at Healthland again ^^
And our next stop was...... Sirocco at the state building.

The view is just... breath-taking. its really really really beautiful!! While walking down the flight of stairs, the barriers are so low that you felt like you're standing on top of a cliff but still feeling very secure!

Live jazz band at the "balcony"

Ordered some cakes

I really really really <3 this place. Because its open air, the view is so so so gorgeous, can win tokyo tower!

This is the best i can do to the photo. From left: Jerry, Sophie, me, Jackson
iphone's camera sucks when its low light haa

Day 4
Went Siam square today. Didnt get anything though, we had japanese steamboat buffet.

Tried mango sticky rice

Heading back to SG!
on the cab

trying to cut the string on his shirt when sophie suggested that he can use his teeth

On our flight home, our tired faces.

Conclusion:
I love this trip because.. it had a very different agenda as compared to all of my trips. This trip is purely random, random and random. Very free and very easy, visited places i've never visited even tho i've been there for the 4th time!
